Pi Tau Sigma members are chosen on a basis of sound engineering ability, scholarship service, leadership, and integrity. The Pi Tau Sigma mission is to strive to create better engineers through commitment to academic excellence and dedication to service. Pi Tau Sigma prides itself in the core values: Integrity, Service, and Leadership. Pi Tau Sigma is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. There are presently 180 collegiate chapters at universities in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates.

The purpose of our organization is to:
1. Foster high ideals in the engineering profession

Dr. Jacob McFarland is Vice President on the Pi Tau Sigma Board of Directors. He is a professor within the mechanical engineering department here at Texas A&M University.
